I envision Reverie as a women’s sisterhood where the universal belief system is that everyone has a God-sized dream. Sometimes, with the weight of anxiety and the pressures of navigating a rushed world, we can often forget we ever even had a vision. Suddenly, the actions required for this unique task and the world’s pressure can seem daunting so we procrastinate this vision and become preoccupied with aimless idols instead. Sometimes we can get tired of the searching and hunting when it can feel like we are the only ones navigating the ship. I believe that if we can dream it then it absolutely can and must happen especially if God has placed that seed in our hearts. I think that even in the parable of the mustard seed for many of us, it is difficult to blossom our seeds because God is still yet to be Lord of our lives, or our minds are being submitted to idols around us that don’t allow us to get up, and wake up!
So what is Reverie? This word has been engraved in my mind since I was little. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing other people’s visions come to life. For me, reverie sometimes reminds me of the word reverence. We all need Reverie: a joyful child-like dream with the confidence that we can achieve what we envision with God’s upper hand and strength. Reverie for me holds the significance that we can all dream. The question that appears to me is how do we dream in a way that aligns with God’s word and also in unity? In some ways, this is what walking by faith in community looks like.
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near
